IN MEMORY OF JACK LAUBER

AMERICANS FOR A SAFE ISRAEL!

AFSI NOTES WITH GREAT SORROW THE PASSING OF JACK LAUBER,

CHAPTER CHAIRMAN IN THE GREATER ALBANY, NEW YORK AREA

It is hard to believe that our energetic, devoted, enthusiastic and tireless worker for Israel died at midnight Monday night, August 23, of a brain aneurism, at the age of 73.

Jack championed every cause that AFSI sponsored. He stood for a whole Israel in every action that he took. Even his environmental efforts, his belief in the program to turn waste to energy, were turned towards Israel. He was an invited speaker at many conferences there, espousing that theory.

As someone who enjoyed visiting Israel as much as possible, he participated in AFSI Chizuk missions to Israel, along with his pal, Harold Shugar, another AFSI enthusiast. Together they formed a mighty team.

We have warm memories of Jack and his beloved wife, Ruth, attending AFSI conferences in New York City. Often, Jack would make the long trip from Albany to NYC simply to participate in one of our demonstrations on behalf of Israel. He would then visit the AFSI office to brainstorm about various programs and projects that would be effective in supporting our beloved Israel.

Jack was also very dedicated to his ZIONIST FORUM, a website he created to post articles and photos relating to our cause.

As we write this memorial, it seems incredible that we won’t be interrupted by a phone call from Jack. His frequent calls to the NewYork AFSI office were always filled with warm greetings, as well as questions and suggestions for action to be taken.

The funeral, being held today, Wednesday, August 25, in Schenectady, NY, is scheduled to take place at Congregation Beth Israel, the family synagogue.

We pray that Ruth, his children, Renee and Evan, and the entire extended Lauber family will be comforted in the knowledge that Jack will always be with us in memory and deed. May they know no more sorrows and be comforted among the mourners of Zion.

With deepest sympathy,

Herbert Zweibon, Chairman

Helen Freedman, Executive Director

Rael and Erich Isaac

Ruth King

Charlotte Wahle

and the entire AFSI family
